Denton County Branch Offices at the
Sandy Jacobs Government Center:
This local center opened to better serve the
taxpayers living in the Carrollton, Dallas, Hebron and Plano areas. State law defines the
type of service each county elected official can provide to its residents. Each elected
official has the sole discretion to determine if and when those services are offered. This
authority includes setting internal procedures and working hours. This County Government
Center presently houses the following elected officials. This list of responsibilities is
examples of the type of service they can provide:

Court Suits, Small Claims, Forcible Detainers, Weddings, Hot Checks, Administrative
Hearings.
Constable

Process, Enforcement of Court Orders, Warrants, Bailiff--J. P. Court.
Commissioners
Court is the administrative body for the transaction of
county business. As one of a five-member court he represents
the district in the decision making process. The office in
Carrollton is closed on Tuesday as Commissioners Court is
held each week in Denton.

Veteran's Service Office has a Branch Office
in the Carrollton Government Center. Each Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon a
representative
from the Veterans Service Office will be present in Carrollton to provide assistance
to local veterans.
Denton
County MHMR Center is a Community MHMR Center that
contracts with the Texas Department of State Health
Services, the Department of Ageing and Disability
Services , along with other state and local businesses
and agencies for the provision of behavioral health care
services to citizens of Denton County. Denton County
MHMR Center is administered by a Board of Trustees which
is appointed by the Denton County Commissioners Court.
MHMR’s south
county office is located at 101 East Corporate, Suite
150, Lewisville TX 75067 214-488-0121. Hours are M-F
8:00a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Fees are assessed according to income and size of
family. Individuals who are eligible for service are not
denied services because of inability to pay.
