Little is know about John and Mary Denton’s fourth
child, Eldridge Hopkins Denton. He was born either August 16 or
September 23, 1833 in Clark County, Arkansas. He is listed on the 1850
Titus County, Texas Census as living with his brothers and sister.
There is speculation that he might have moved out west. In an 1895
account written by Ashley Denton, Eldridge Denton is listed as lost,
probably dead.
