10:00 am A) Public Hearing on the proposed county tax rate of $0.23589 per $100 valuation which would increase total tax revenues from properties on the tax roll by 7.99 % for tax year 2007 and schedule a meeting to adopt the tax rate for Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 10:15 a.m. at the Courthouse-on-the-Square in the Commissioners Courtroom at 110 West Hickory, 2nd floor in Denton Texas, and any appropriate action. * A) Approval of renewal of contract for Janitorial Paper Products, Bid #06-06-1773, to Central Poly Corp. for Item 5, and Empire Paper Co. for Items 2, 3, 8, and 9, and any appropriate action. (Briefing 8-21-07)

* B) Approval of renewal of Bid #04-06-1755 for Janitorial Service, to Members Building Maintenance Ltd. and any appropriate action. (Briefing 8-21-07)

* A) Approval of Intra-Departmental Transfers, and any appropriate action.

* B) Approval of Budget Amendment Request #101600 for Asphalt Products for Road & Bridge, Precinct #4 in the amount of $32,000, and any appropriate action. (Briefing 8-21-07)

* C) Approval of Budget Amendment Request #101680 to transfer funds from County Jail to 2005 Certificates of Obligation to cover additional expenses as recommended by Jamail and Smith Construction per change order on the Denton County Sheriff Office-SWAT-Shop Building in the amount of $35,000, and any appropriate action. * D) Approval of Budget Amendment Request #101690 for Contract Labor for Justice of the Peace, Precinct #6 in the amount of $1,560, and any appropriate action. (Briefing 8-21-07)

* E) Approval of the Property Tax Collection Fee Analysis Report and approval for setting fee for the 2007 Tax Collection Contracts with other entities for the 2007 contract period at a rate of $0.72 per parcel, and any appropriate action. (Briefing 8-21-07)

* G) Approval of Budget Amendment Request #101750 for Professional Services for Public Work’s Administration/Engineering in the amount of $21,000, and any appropriate action.

* H) Approval of Budget Amendment Request #101760 for Computer Supplies for Tax Assessor/Collector in the amount of $17,208, and any appropriate action.

I) Approval of Budget Amendment Request #101770 for Architect Fees including the transfer of funds from Unappropriated Regular Contingency for Non-Departmental in the amount of $1,200, and any appropriate action.

* A) Approval of Order Making Appointments. (Appointments have been posted and advertised. Interviews were conducted as set forth in the Denton County policies adopted by the Commissioners Court, except as otherwise stated in the appointment orders. These appointments are within the budgetary constraints.)

C) Approve Interlocal Agreement for Denton County to provide Microwave System Services to DENCO Area 9-1-1 District, and any appropriate action.

13. OTHER DEPARTMENTS

* A) Approval of Building Use Request from Denton Holiday Festival Association to use the Courthouse on the Square and the Lawn for the Denton Holiday Lighting Festival on the Square on Thursday, November 29, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and any appropriate action. B) Approve re-appointment of Gloria H. Massey to the Denton County Child Protective Services Board as a Precinct #3 representative, pending further approval by the CPS Board, and any appropriate action. Commissioner Precinct #3

A) Any appropriate action on Executive Session matters - Legal Department.

* B) Approval of Amendment and Renewal to the Agreement for Services between Denton County, Texas, and Richmond Communications Group, Inc., for Voice and Data Cabling, and any appropriate action. (Briefing 8-21-07)

C) Approval of Change Order #1, to the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between Denton County, Texas, and Jagoe-Public Company, for additional work on the Culvert Replacement Project on Naylor Road, in the amount of $12,236.00, for a total contract amount of $151,461.00, located in Commissioner Precinct #1, and any appropriate action.

D) Approval of Amendment #2 to the Agreement for Interim Engineering Services between Denton County, Texas, and Teague, Nall and Perkins, Inc., and any appropriate action.
