10:00 am A) Public Hearing on the proposed county tax rate of $0.23589 per $100 valuation which would increase total tax revenues from properties on the tax roll by 7.99 % for tax year 2007 and schedule a meeting to adopt the tax rate for Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 10:15 a.m. at the Courthouse-on-the-Square in the Commissioners Courtroom at 110 West Hickory, 2nd floor in Denton Texas, and any appropriate action. * A) Approval for the Denton County Juvenile Probation Department to submit a grant application for $75,000 to the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission in collaboration with Communities in Schools of North Texas, and any appropriate action. (Briefing 8-14-07)

B) To Call Local Option Election – Town of Argyle for “The Legal Sale of Mixed Beverages in Restaurants by Food And Beverage Certificate Holders Only and “The Legal Sale of Beer and Wine for Off-Premise Consumption Only” on November 6, 2007 at Denton County, Texas, Denton County. To designate The Elections Office as the main early voting site, that early voting will begin October 22, 2007, that early voting will be conducted from October 22, 2007 thru November 2, 2007. The address of the early voting clerk is Don Alexander, P.O. Box 1720, Denton,TX 76202. 14. LEGAL

A) Any appropriate action on Executive Session matters - Legal Department.

B) Approval of Supplemental Agreement #3 to the Contract between Denton County, Texas, and Freese and Nichols, Inc., for the required additional sulfate testing throughout the project, and for additional funding in the estimated amount of $1,802.50, for a total contract amount of $1,125,318.50, located in Commissioner Precinct #2, and any appropriate action.

C) Approval of: (1) the Contract for Purchase of Right-of-Way between Denton County and Walgreen, Co. for the purchase of real property, Parcel 15 for FM 1171 Project; (2) grant authorization to proceed with the closing and approval for the County Judge to sign all necessary closing documents to purchase the Right-of-Way form Walgreen Co.; and (3) direction to the County Auditor to issue a warrant in the amount of the purchase price, plus any fees, for the purchase of the real property from Walgreen Co., with funding to come from FM 1171 Project, Auditor #70-7360-90-20, located in Commissioner Precinct #3, and any appropriate action.

D) Approval of the Customer Agreement between Denton County, Texas and International Business Machines Corporation (IBM), for the new i5 IBM Computer (AS400) located in Denton County Tax Collector and Assessor’s Facility, and any appropriate action.

E) Approval of Amendment One to the Owner/Architect Short Form Agreement between HDR Architecture, Inc., and Denton County, Texas, that provides consulting services on the Capital Improvement Committee Project, and any appropriate action.

The Commissioners Court reserves the right to exercise its discretion and may convene in executive session as authorized by the Texas Government Code §551.071, et seq. on any of the agenda items.
