Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas was called to order on the 6th day of December, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. in Commissioners Courtroom, 2nd Floor, Courthouse on the Square, Denton, Texas by Denton County Judge Mary Horn. Commissioners Cynthia White, Sandy Jacobs, Bobbie Mitchell and Jim Carter were present, along with County Clerk Cynthia Mitchell’s representative, Deputy Clerk, Erin McCorkle.
Court opened with an Invocation by Bing Burton, Health Director, followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Amy Phillips, Human Resources Director.
Dr. Burton: Will you pray with me, please. Lord, we thank You for this day
and for this season of the year when we deck the halls and celebrate the coming
of Your son, wonderful Counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of
Peace. Lord, our world doesn't always know peace and we pray Your protection
tonight on all those who represent us worldwide. We pray Your protection also on
those in our cities and in our counties. We pray also, Lord, Your spirit will
guide this Commissioners Court as they consider the issues before us today. We
pray all this in Your name. Amen.
