Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas was called to order on the 13th day of July, 2004, at 6:03 p.m. in Commissioners Courtroom, 2nd Floor, Courthouse on the Square, Denton, Texas by Denton County Judge Mary Horn. Commissioners Jim Carter, Bobbie J. Mitchell and Cynthia White were present, along with County Clerk Cynthia Mitchell’s representative, Senior Administrator to Commissioners Court, Kathleen Bransford. (Commissioner Jacobs was attending to a family matter out of state.)
Court opened with an Invocation by LeDena Ferrell, Chief Administrator for Comm. Carter, followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Cathy Allcorn, County Planning Manager.
Ms. Ferrell: Father God, we just thank You for another day that You've given us to enjoy, for every day is a gift from You. We thank You for Your sunshine that reminds us of the warmth of Your love. We're asking this evening that You guide our Commissioners Court in the decisions that they make. We ask for wisdom in helping our Court to make wise decisions for our Court, and may Your love and Your peace be present in our courtroom as the decisions are made tonight. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
