March 16, 2004

Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas was called to order on the 16th day of March, 2004, at 9:03 a.m. in the Denton County Pre-Trial Facility, 1406 Troy H. LaGrone Drive, Denton, Texas by County Judge Mary Horn. Commissioners Sandy Jacobs, Bobbie J. Mitchell, and Jim Carter were present along with County Clerk Cynthia Mitchell’s representative, Deputy Clerk Kathleen Bransford.

Court opened with an Invocation by Sergeant William Rogers, North Central Texas Narcotics Task Force, followed by the Pledges to the American and Texas Flag led by his son, William Ross Rogers, Eagle Scout Candidate.

Mr. Rogers: Please be with me in an attitude of prayer as we go to our loving father. Almighty God, there are days that You look down upon Your children with sorrow, and those days You look down upon Your children with pride. But always dear father, You look down at us with the eyes of a loving and tolerant parent. We ask You to look favorably upon our efforts here today and throughout the days of our lives. Endure us with Your justice. Bestow upon us Your patience. Grant so that we may live to be worthy of the name children of God. All of this and the prayers we hold silently in our hearts but are nonetheless known to you, we lift up through Jesus Christ, our redeemer. Amen.
