June 13, 2003
Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas was called to order on Friday, the 13th day of June, 2003, at 9:00 AM in the Denton County Pre-Trial Facility, 1406 Troy H. LaGrone Drive, Denton, Texas by County Judge Mary Horn. Commissioners Sandy Jacobs, Bobbie J. Mitchell, and Cynthia White were present along with County Clerk Cynthia Mitchell's representative, Deputy Clerk Alvin Hudson.
Court opened with an Invocation by James Wells, Denton County Auditor, followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Andrew Blackburn, Grandson of Vicki Blackburn, Administrative Assistant to Aide to Court.
Mr. Wells: Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You so much for the blessings You have given to this country, our state and to this county government. We ask that You make us mindful of all the things that we enjoy that are of Your doing, not ours. Make us mindful that Your blessings are nothing that we deserve or have earned but Your gracious gift to us. Please keep Your Hand over and protect the leaders of our country, state and our county. Lord, we need Your protection more now than we have in many years. Help us be mindful of the potential for dangers and please guard us from those. Watch over each and every person here participating, give us your wisdom and protect us from sin. In Christ's name, Amen.
