Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas was called to order on the 29th day of April, 2003, at 9:00 AM in Commissioners Courtroom, 2nd Floor, Courthouse on the Square, Denton, Texas by County Judge Mary Horn. Commissioners Sandy Jacobs, Jim Carter, Bobbie J. Mitchell and Cynthia White were present, along with County Clerk Cynthia Mitchell's representative, deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford.

Court opened with an Invocation by Doctor Jeff Williams, First Baptist Church of Denton, followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Tye DeBerry, Economic Development Coordinator.

Dr. Williams: Father, we thank You for a beautiful day that You have given us, another day of life to live and to enjoy. Thank You, Father, for our Country, a free Country we're able to live in, Lord. We pray for our troops that remain in Iraq today, we pray for their safety. We pray for our president and for our military leaders, Father, as they continue to make important decisions in the days to come. And, Father, we pray for peace to reign in that area and in all of our world. Father, I thank You for Denton County, for a place to live and to raise our families, a place where we can enjoy life and prosper. And, Father, we thank You for that opportunity that we have here in this place. I pray for Commissioners Court, Father. I pray for wisdom for them as they make important decisions this day and every day. I pray, Father, Your blessings on them and Your guidance on them each day. So, Father, we thank You for all of Your love, for all that You do for us each day. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
