Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas was called to order on the 4th day of March, 2003, at 9:00 AM in Commissioners Courtroom, 2nd Floor, Courthouse on the Square, Denton, Texas by County Judge Mary Horn. Commissioners Sandy Jacobs, Jim Carter, Bobbie J. Mitchell and Cynthia White were present, along with County Clerk Cynthia Mitchell's representative, deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford.
Court opened with an Invocation by Pastor Brad Cockrell, 1st Baptist Church of Denton, Texas, followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Jim Heath, Denton County Historical Commission's Liaison to Commissioners Court.
Pastor Cockrell: Jesus, we're grateful for this day that You have given to us today. We're grateful for Your love and Your blessings that You pour out over our lives. As this Court meets together today, Father, we pray that You would bless the proceedings. May You bless their meeting time. May You give great wisdom to everyone as they make decisions today. We're grateful for this country, for this government that You have placed over us. We're grateful for Judge Horn and just all the representatives of this Court, and ask that You would bless them today as the meet together. We'll give You thanks. In Jesus' name, Amen.
ITEM 1 PUBLIC INPUT
Mildred Hawk of Denton, member of the Board of Directors of Crime Stoppers, presented Crime Stopper Bumper Stickers to the court and requested the court to fund $700 to be able to apply the stickers to all Denton County cars and also, to be able to sell them, recouping some of money.
