Mitchell. Commissioners Sandy Jacobs, Jim Carter & Cynthia White were present, along with County Clerk Cynthia Mitchell's representative, deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford. Judge Horn was in Austin.

Court opened with an Invocation by Pastor Ed Millican of the First United Methodist Church of Pilot Point, Texas, followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Amy Phillips, Director of Human Resources.

Pastor Millican: Eternal God, we thank You for the vast country that we live in. We thank You for the seasons, the natural world that is full of life and beauty. We come to You because we are also Your creation. We humans are an adverse and complex group especially when we live together in cities and for all those living together. We ask that You grant us wisdom and vision. Today the world is full of tension, anxiety and conflicts. Grant us the ability to listen to both sides and help us not stress, and in the noisy confusion of life, help us to keep peace with out souls. Amen.
