December 18, 2001

Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas was called to order at 9:08 AM on the 18th day of December, 2001 by Judge Scott Armey. Commissioners Sandy Jacobs, Jim Carter, Bobbie J. Mitchell and Cynthia White were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford.

Court opened with an Invocation by Reverend A. R. Stokes of the Morse Street Baptist Church followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to American and Texas Flags led by Monica Mentor, also from the Morse Street
Baptist Church, Denton, Texas.

Reverend Stokes: Our Father and our God, we come to You, dear Lord, this morning and we give You thanks for this day. We praise You for this great and wonderful country in which we live. We thank You for the edge of protection that You have around and about us. Father, this morning, we lift up our President and his cabinet. We lift up our State, City and County officials. And, Father, we ask You right now that You would come and visit this County Commissioners Court this day. Bless all the proceedings that will go forth. Bless, keep us safe as we reflect upon You during this season of which we are again. And thank You. We praise You, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
