September 18, 2001

Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas was called to order at 9:06 AM on the 18th day of September, 2001 with Judge Scott Armey presiding. Commissioners Jim Carter, Bobbie J. Mitchell and Cynthia White were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford.

Court opened with an Invocation led by Kelly Zwinggi, Director of Public Works, and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Barbara Looper, Aide to Court.

Mr. Zwinggi: Lord, make us an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let us so love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. Where there is sadness, joy. Heavenly Father, grant that we may not seek so much to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned. And it is in dying that we are born into eternal life. Amen.
