Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas met on this 26th day of June, 2001 with Commissioner Sandy Jacobs, Presiding Officer, calling the meeting to order at 9:02 AM. Commissioners Jim Carter, Bobbie J. Mitchell and Cynthia White were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:
Court opened with an Invocation by the Reverend Bob Garsee, Assistant Chaplain to the Denton County Sheriff's Office and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Sgt. Douglas Lee of the Denton County Sheriff's Office.
Rev. Garsee: Our Father, we thank You for the privilege to live in America where we have freedom to speak. And we thank You, Heavenly Father, for this this morning that we can come and that we can voice our opinions. And, Heavenly Father, we just pray that this meeting might be conducted in Your will and in Your honor as each of us examines our lives. And, Heavenly Father, that we give direction and correction as You lead. In Jesus' name, Amen.
ITEM 1 PUBLIC INPUT
Comm. Jacobs announced that Judge Armey is out of town. She also asked Bill Gentry from the audience to step forward so the court could congratulate he and his wife Edith on their 63rd wedding anniversary. Mr. Gentry works as a greeter on the first floor of the Courthouse on the Square and has been a faithful and productive member of the Denton County Historical Commission for many years.
Sheriff Weldon Lucas introduced a portion of his department - filling the courtroom - and presented a chart to the court showing the average starting yearly peace officer pay rate of five area cities and its relationship to Denton County starting deputy pay as of October 20, 2000.
The following persons endorsed a salary increase for the Sheriff's Department: Dr. Dean Hansen of Frisco, Detention Officer Valcour Dominick, Chief Investigator Dennis Cox, Jay D. Rodgers of Flower Mound, Reverend Bob Garsee of Denton, Sgt. Douglas Lee of Carrollton, and Rob Rayner of Denton.
Sgt. William Rogers, Assistant Commander of the North Central Texas Narcotics Task Force, presented a certificate of commendation to Deputy John Travelle.
ITEM 4 PUBLIC HEARING
4.A) Approve the Replat of Lot 12, Block 2, L.C. South Ranch Addition, Precinct One.

10.A-1) Approve Potential Change Order No. 200 insuring that the Trade Contractors who were required to repair the damage of other contractors are reimbursed, the request is being made that additive and deductive change orders be ran through the project with a net cost of zero to the owner by Comm. Mitchell, second by Comm. Jacobs.

the modification of the Denton County Master Thoroughfare Plan - Commissioners Court.Authorize Innovative Transportation Solutions, Inc. to incur costs under its contract for traffic counts on the Better Safer Roads Projects that require environmental clearance in an amount not to exceed $2,000 per project with the funds coming from interest earnings by Comm.
