Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas met on this the 19th day of June, 2001 with Judge Scott Armey presiding. Commissioners Sandy Jacobs, Jim Carter, Bobbie J. Mitchell and Cynthia White were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:

Court opened with an Invocation by Chaplain Bill Baker of the Denton County Sheriff's Office and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Georgianna McCoig, Assistant Human Resources Director.

Chaplain Baker: God, our Creator, we thank You for this day, for the beauty of the sunshine, those who have gathered in this place. We ask Your special blessings upon this Court. Remind us again and again of the price that was paid for freedom and what is represented here is freedom in action, that what is done be acceptable not only in Your sight but be for the best of all purposes for the people of this County. Bless each County Commissioner, each person who is gathered here to speak and to listen. We ask it in the name of God Almighty, Creator, Redeemer and Preserver. Amen
