Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas met on this 29th day of May, 2001 with Judge Scott Armey presiding. Commissioners Carter and Mitchell were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:
Court opened with an Invocation by Kelly Zwinggi, Director of Public Works, and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Erika Minor, Administrative Secretary to the County Judge.
Mr. Zwinggi: Let us pray for those who serve in public office, that God may guide their minds and hearts, so that all men may live in true peace and freedom. Almighty and eternal God, You know the longings of men's hearts and You protect their rights. In Your goodness, watch over those in authority, so that people everywhere may enjoy freedom, security and peace. We ask this through Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Move to approve including the transfer of funds not from Non-Departmental Unappropriated Contingency but from the Sheriff's own budget line items in the amount of $17,912 and set up a meeting with the Sheriff to discuss the needs of the parking lot east of the jail expansion by Comm. White, second by Comm. Mitchell.

ITEM 1 PUBLIC INPUT
John Payne and Jack Coffey of the Texas Association of Counties presented a plaque to the court in appreciation of the safety record of Denton County, Texas and the savings to the county in Worker's Compensation.
Gustavo Hernandez, Loss Control Coordinator in the Human Resource Department, accepted the award on behalf of his department and thanked each and every employee of Denton County for their attention to safety standards.
