Be it remembered, Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas met on this 22nd day of May, 2001 with Judge Scott Armey presiding. Commissioners Sandy Jacobs, Jim Carter, Bobbie J. Mitchell & Cynthia White were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:
Court opened with an Invocation by Pastor Jim Brown of the Calvary Community Church in Aubrey, Texas and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flag led by Lockadee Newland, Chief Administrator for Comm. White, Precinct One.
Pastor Brown: Father, we bow our hearts before You recognizing that You are the ultimate in authority. But You have distributed authority throughout our land. This country was founded upon the principles of law and order and in God we trust. And in Your word, You instructed us to follow the laws of the land. And so, Father, this morning we submit ourselves to the authority of this court in align with Your will and Your purpose. And we ask that Your divine will and plan be established here today according to the purpose and the mission of this Court, that Your blessing and hone be upon all of its participants and upon this Judge with wisdom and knowledge concerning the affairs of this county. I ask it in Jesus' name. Amen.
