Be it remembered that Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas, met on this the 20th day of February, 2001, with Judge Scott Armey presiding. Commissioners Sandy Jacobs, Cynthia White, Jim Carter and Bobbie J. Mitchell were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:

Court opened with an Invocation by Lockadee Newland, Chief Administrator for Commissioner White, Precinct One, and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Don Alexander, Director of Elections for Denton County.

Ms. Newland: Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up this Commissioners Court to You this morning. Please help them to honor the will of the people and work in the best interest of Denton County as they do their jobs today. Thank You for Your many blessings. Help us to be aware of those less fortunate and to extend a hand of love and comfort in Your name. Thank You for Your love and guidance. We pray for the State Legislature and all those who assist them. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
