February 6, 2001

Be it remembered that Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas, met on this the 6th day of February, 2001, with Judge Armey presiding. Commissioners White, Jacobs, Mitchell and Carter were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:

Court opened with an Invocation by Dan Lipford of the Redeemer Presbyterian Church, Denton, Texas, and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flags led by Mayor Olive Stephens, Shady Shores, Texas.

Pastor Lipford: Dear God, we come this evening praying to You, God of sovereign over all the affairs of men, thanking You for the great privilege that we have of living in a country where we the people have processes by which we direct the governing of our country. We pray for this meeting this evening, Lord, that You would indeed direct the hearts of both those who sit on the County Commissioners Court and the hearts of those who attend and have input. We pray, God, that Your righteousness would prevail, that Lord we may live in peace and unity with one another and, Lord, at the same time, we would promote that which is best for our community. We thank You, God, for those from our community who serve with pride and we pray for their protection, as well as for the protection of others from our country who are away from their families that You would, indeed, surround them and build a hedge wherein they might be safe from all harm. We thank You for our State government and our City government and our Federal government and we pray, Lord, that as well, you would direct the hearts of those, Lord, that Your righteousness might prevail at all levels. We thank You again for these who have given of their time and effort to serve this community and we pray Your richest blessings upon them. Bless this meeting. We pray in the name of Christ, our Savior. Amen.
