January 30, 2001
Be it remembered that Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas, met on this the 30th day of January, 2001, with Judge Scott Armey presiding. Commissioners Carter and Jacobs were present when the following proceedings were had, to wit:
Court opened with an Invocation by Pastor Roger Marsh of the Calvary Baptist Church in Pilot Point followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flag led by Patty Larson, Chief Administrator for Commissioner Sandy Jacobs, Precinct No. 2.
Pastor Marsh: Father, we do thank You today for this opportunity that we have to gather in this place to conduct very important matters of business. And, Father, thank You for the freedoms that we enjoy and so many times take for granted. May we this morning, Father, as business is conducted, be mindful of Your presence and Your wisdom and Your guidance that You so freely give. Father, we also want to pray today for the family of Dr. Windle. And, we thank You for her and for all that she has given to this community and given to people in so many places. And we pray for the family this morning and ask You to be with them and comfort and strengthen them. Be with the ones who will stand before the congregation and share words of encouragement and comfort. Father, we pray that You will put words upon their hearts that will inspire and encourage everyone to do as Dr. Windle has done and share and give so much to people everywhere. Thank You for these who are here to lead us this morning. We pray that You will guide them in all the things that are done and said. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
