Be it remembered that Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas, met on this the 23rd day of January, 2001, with Judge Scott Armey presiding. Commissioners Carter, Mitchell, Jacobs & White were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:
Court opened with an Invocation by the Reverend Jack Howard of the Full Gospel Church, Denton, Texas, and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag led by Gary Beal of the Full Gospel Church.
Reverend Howard: Heavenly Father, we seek Your wisdom and directions in all matters that will take place within the walls of this courtroom this week. We ask You to fill it with Your presence. We ask You to minister to these men and women of whom both You and the people of Denton County have elected to take care of the business that affect us all and in all their decisions that will affect each one that will stand before them for a ruling. May it be just and fair to all. We also thank You, Heavenly Father, for giving us Judges who are not afraid to ask for blessings and guidance from a higher power and authority. Minister to them individually and as a whole. Heavenly Father, for granting us favor of this petition, we will ever be careful to give You the praise and honor and glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
