Be it remembered that Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas, met on this the 12th day of December, 2000, with Judge Scott Armey presiding. Commissioners Jeff Krueger, Sandy Jacobs, Bobbie J. Mitchell and Jim Carter were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:
Court opened with an Invocation by Pastor Terry Collins of the Welch Street Church of Christ and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and the Texas Flags led by Corporal Douglas Lee of the Denton County Sheriff's Department and President of the Denton County Law Enforcement Association.
Pastor Collins: Our God and Heavenly Father, we begin this day with gratitude for all good things that come from Your hand. We pray, Father, Your blessings on the proceeding of this Court. We pray, Father, for their health, for their wisdom. We're thankful for their dedication to our community. We're grateful to live in a good state. We're thankful, Father, for the good country in which we live, a peaceful land. And we pray, Father, that during this time of difficulty, that You will bless people with peace and good will. And we pray, Father, that the situation in our land may be brought to a swift and just resolution and we pray, Father, for all who lead and guide us that they may do so in such a way that our freedom and that our chance for prosperity will always be preserved. Thank You again for again for all good things. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
ITEM 2 PUBLIC INPUT
Judge Armey announced that on Thursday, December 14th, there will be a community-wide pep rally at the Courthouse on the Square to honor the Ryan Raider Football Team for their participation in the state finals on Saturday at the Texas Stadium.
