Be it remembered that Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas, met on this the 5th day of December, 2000 with Judge Scott Armey presiding. Commissioners Jeff Krueger, Sandy Jacobs, Bobbie J. Mitchell and Jim Carter were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:
Court opened with an Invocation by Monsignor Charles B. King of the Immaculate Conception Church, Denton, Texas and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag led by Stacy Stockard with the Agricultural Extension Service.
Monsignor King: Let us give thanks this morning to God for the dedication of time and wisdom given by the Commissioners who have served this County on this Court. We ask for Your guidance on this Court as it directs the fortunes of our Denton County. Make the Court responsive to the needs of our citizens. Grant the Court the courage to make the hard decisions that will bring justice to our communities. Make the Court always aware of the opportunities present to it to bring about good to our communities. May peace and prosperity, which all of us long in this season of the year, be the goal of our County Commissioners, both present and to serve in the year that lies ahead of us. Finally, bless the people of Denton County now and always. Amen.
ITEM 2 PUBLIC INPUT
Jana Cott, Flower Mound, Texas, thanked Judge Wilson for his service to the county.
Nancy Brown, Denton County Extension Agent, introduced the Agricultural Extension Program Council.
Judge Armey read a letter regarding the election for one year of Beth Fleming, Director of Purchasing, as a Director on the Board of Directors for the National Purchasing Institute.
