Be it remembered that Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas, met on this the 28th day of November, 2000 with Judge Kirk Wilson presiding. Commissioners Scott Armey, Jim Carter, Jeff Krueger and Sandy Jacobs were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:
Court opened with an Invocation by Pastor John Yeatts from the Living Hope Fellowship Church, Denton, Texas, followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag led by Georgia Caraway, Director of the Courthouse on the Square Museum.
Pastor Yeatts: Our Father, who art in Heaven, hollowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory forever. Amen.

Chief Jimmie Vann, Administrative Chief for the Mayhill-Cooper Creek Volunteer Fire Department, thanked this Commissioners Court for being the most responsive court ever for the emergency services of Denton County.
