October 24, 2000

Be it remembered that Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas, met on this the 24th day of October, 2000, with Judge Kirk Wilson presiding. Commissioners Jeff Krueger, Jim Carter and Sandy Jacobs were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:

Court opened with an Invocation by Hank Scheible, Director of the Denton County Veterans Service Office, and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag led by Thomas Reece, Office Administrator for the Denton County Clerk's Office.

Mr. Scheible: Most Gracious Heavenly Father, we come before You this morning humbly acknowledging Your control over the earth. Lord, we have been instructed to pray for our leaders and we do so. We pray for our National leaders, and our State leaders, and for this Commissioners Court, that You would give them guidance and direction. That every decision they make and every word that they speak would bring glory and honor to Your name. That they would do the business of this County and this Court in accordance with Your instructions and Your guidelines. Father, we do lift You up this morning and praise Your name. In Christ's name we pray. Amen.

ITEM 2 PUBLIC INPUT

Judge Wilson announced that the Juvenile Board will be looking at two pieces of property for the Juvenile Justice Alternative Educational Program (JJAEP): the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Bolivar Street and the Denton Development Center on Loop 288. Action on the Board's decision will take place two weeks from today.
