October 3, 2000

Be it remembered that Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas, met on this the 3rd day of October, 2000, at 9:03 am, with Judge Kirk Wilson presiding. Commissioners Sandy Jacobs, Jeff Krueger, Jim Carter and Scott Armey were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:

Court opened with an Invocation by Chaplain Phil Baker of the Denton County Sheriff's Department and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag led by Danny Brumley, Director of Facilities Management.

Chaplain Baker: Almighty God, Creator of all that is, all that was, and all that ever will be, we praise Your holy name. We thank You for all the blessings that You've poured out upon us. Today we're especially mindful in this place of freedom that has been the gift to this country, to this State, and to this County. We thank You for it and we ask You to help those of us who are given the responsibility to use that freedom in the various ways, as government employees and elected officials, that You will guide us in what happens here this day, that You will surround especially the Commissioners with the special knowledge that You are their God and their Guide. Through all the business that comes before this Court, all who speak here, all who are present, we ask in the name of that Almighty God, our Savior and Creator. Amen.

ITEM 2 PUBLIC INPUT

Sharon Copeland questioned the City of Sanger's support for the County Development District No. 8 and if the town had held a public forum.

Linda Hartman voiced her opposition to the CDD #8.

Dick Tedrow requested that the court put a moratorium on processing all present and any forthcoming CDDs until the State Attorney General releases his ruling in early November.

Ray Roberts asked the court to do the right thing with the CDDs.

Ted Carthel echoed the request for a moratorium on all CDDS.

Jacobs, second by Judge Wilson.
