Court opened with an Invocation by Pastor Vernon Ports of the Restoration Fellowship of Flower Mound Texas, and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American and Texas Flag led by Hank Scheible, Veterans Service Officer for Denton County.

Pastor Ports: Heavenly Father, I thank You for this honor of praying on behalf of Judge Kirk Wilson and this Commissioners Court. We recognize that all religious and righteous authority comes from You for Your word says everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities for there is no authority except that which God has established. Lord, even as You have bestowed Your authority upon this honorable Judge and Court of Law, we ask that You would empower them with Your wisdom to carry out Your will in the land. May this day be one of unity, peace and harmony throughout the district. We also ask, Lord, for divine protection and prosperity on all the officers of this Court and their families. Heavenly Father, this honorable Court has chosen to call upon You to start this day. May this true act of humility be evidenced by an increase of Your abundant grace in this place. I thank You that when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice. Father, we ask that You would invoke Your blessing on all who enter through these doors today. In Jesus' name. Amen.
