A) Approval of any action related to the2000/2001 Denton County Budget – Commissioners Court.

8. HUMAN RESOURCES

* A) Approval of Order Making Appointments. (The appointments for August 15, 2000, have been posted and advertised; and interviews were conducted as set forth in the Denton County policies adopted by the Commissioners Court, except as otherwise stated in the appointment orders. These appointments are within the budgetary restraints.)

B) Approve splitting one full-time Felony Intake Attorney position into two part-time Felony Intake Attorney positions – County Judge.

9. COUNTY CLERK

* A) Approval of the minutes for August 1, 2000, Formal Session – County Judge. (Briefing 8-8-00)

10. ELECTION DEPARTMENT

A) Approval of staff recommendations for election judges, alternates and polling sites for the election year 2001 – County Judge.

11. SHERIFF

A) Approve Sheriff’s request to submit grant renewal documents to the Governor’s Criminal Justice division to fund vital portions of the Denton County Sheriff’s Office Underage Drinking COMBAT Team, and will accept such funding awarded – County Judge.

B) Approve the Sheriff’s request to submit an application to be sent to the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation to assist the Sheriff’s Office Mental Health Unit form a Mental Health Peace Officer Training Program – County Judge.

12. STANDING ITEMS

A) Approval of any appropriate action regarding project development, construction progress, and change orders to ongoing Denton County Projects: Sheriff’s Office/Jail, Centralized Road & Bridge, Carroll Building, Denton County Courts Building, Denton County Annexes, and future Denton County Satellite Facilities - Commissioners Court.

B) Approval of any appropriate action regarding ongoing, planned, and proposed county and state transportation projects; Denton County’s Better Safer Roads Program; and any necessary action regarding the modification of the Denton County Master Thoroughfare Plan - Commissioners Court.

C) Approval of any action regarding Denton County boards and committees - Commissioners Court.

D) Approve instating a Local Disaster Declaration for Threat of Wildland Fires in unincorporated Denton County due to drought conditions – County Judge.

13. NON-DEPARTMENTAL

* A) Approval of request form Mother’s Against Drunk Driving to be included as an option for jurors who appear for jury service in the Denton County Courts to have the opportunity to donate their pay to MADD – County Judge. (Briefing 8-8-00)

B) Approval of the use of the Juvenile Courtroom by the Administrative Law Judge every Wednesday – County Judge.

14. LEGAL

A) Any appropriate action on Executive Session matters - Legal Department.

* B) Approval of Trade Contract Agreement No. 90-9420 between Denton County and Jagoe-Public Company, for the Pre-Trial Center, Enforcement Center, Kitchen Expansion, Canopy Addition and Security Enhancements for the Sheriff’s Department – County Judge. (Briefing 8-8-00)

C) Approval of Wireless IP Service Agreement between AT&T Wireless Services and Denton County for use by Constable, Precinct #4 – County Judge.

D) Approval of the Grantee Acceptance Notice document required for the Prosecution Enhancement Grant, WF 13432-02 – County Judge.

E) Approval of the Energy Services Contract between Denton County and CSI Control Systems International, Inc., and designation of the appropriate financing mechanism by which to fund the contract, and any other appropriate action – County Judge.

F) Approval of a) resolution supporting and b) Interagency Agreement between Denton County and Dallas County for participation in the North Texas Auto Theft Task Force – County Judge.
