April 11, 2000

Be it remembered that Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas, met on this the 11th day of April, 2000, with Judge Kirk Wilson presiding. Commissioners Sandy Jacobs, Jim Carter and Scott Armey were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:

Court opened with an Invocation by Ms. Terry Johnson, Assistant Chaplain in the Denton County Jail, followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag led by Amy Phillips, Director of Human Resources.

Chaplain Johnson: If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ and any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourself. Each of you should look not only at your own interests, but also the interest of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Jesus Christ. We bless this group together. We ask that You be with their hearts and encourage their decision and be of one love. Amen.
