Commissioners Jeff Krueger, Sandy Jacobs, Scott Armey and Jim Carter were present, along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford, when the following proceedings were had, to wit:

Court opened with an Invocation by Chaplain Baker, Chaplain to the Sheriff's Department, followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag led by Beth Fleming, Director of Purchasing for Denton County.

Chaplain Baker: We thank You, God, our Father, for this day with its promise of rain and moisture to refresh the earth. We take this as a personal blessing because it refreshes our lives, as well. As this court convenes this morning, give us special guidance. Make us good stewards of the money of the people and the programs of this County so that all that we do may be done well and pleasing in Your sight. Help us listen in kindness to those who disagree, to be enthusiastic about programs that make for a better place for people in the county to live. And, most important of all, bless everyone here assembled. Amen.
