Citizens should complete a witness form located on the side table. Pursuant to State Open Meetings Law, the Commissioners Court is restricted in discussing or taking action on items not posted on the agenda. Action on your statement can be taken only at a future meeting.
In order to expedite the flow of business and to provide all citizens the opportunity to speak, the Commissioners Court has imposed a three-minute limitation on persons addressing the Court.

A) Approval of award of RFP #10-99-1251 for inmate phone service to Evercom Systems, Inc., and any appropriate action - County Judge.
* B) Approval for exemption from bidding for Sole Source purchase of seven Optec III-P Eagles Voting Machines from Election Systems & Software, Inc., according to the provision of Section 262.024(a)(7)(A) & (D) of the Local Government Code and any appropriate action - County Judge. * C) Approval for exemption from bidding for Sole Source purchase of Jury + Next Generation software from Jury Systems, Inc., according to the provision of Section 262.024(a)(7)(A) of the Local Government Code and any appropriate action - County Judge. (Briefing 1-18-00)

* A) Approval of orders appointing New Employees. (The appointments for January 25, 2000, have been posted and advertised; and interviews were conducted as set forth in the Denton County policies adopted by the Commissioners Court, except as otherwise stated in the appointment orders. 8. COUNTY CLERK
* A) Approve the minutes for January 4, 2000, formal session - County Judge. (Briefing 1-18-00)
9. BOARDS & COMMITTEES
* A) Approve reappointment of Commissioner Jeff Krueger, Sheriff Weldon Lucas, and Tax Assessor/Collector Mary Horn to the Denton County Civil Service Commission - County Judge. (Briefing 1-18-00)
10. STANDING ITEMS
A) Approval of any appropriate action regarding project development, construction progress, and change orders to ongoing Denton County Projects: Sheriff's Office/Jail, Centralized Road & Bridge, Carroll Building, Denton County Courts Building, Denton County Annexes, and future Denton County Satellite Facilities - Commissioners Court.
B) Approval of any appropriate action regarding ongoing, planned, and proposed county and state transportation projects; Denton County's Better Safer Roads Program; and any necessary action regarding the modification of the Denton County Master Thoroughfare Plan - Commissioners Court.
C) Approval of any action regarding Denton County boards and committees - Commissioners Court.
11. NON-DEPARTMENTAL
A) Approve the solicitation of qualifications from architecture/environmental firms and the creation of a Texas Historic Courthouse Master Plan for the Denton County Courthouse- on-the-Square - County Judge. (Briefing 1-18-00)

B) Approve (1) granting exemption from competitive bidding pursuant to Local Government Code Section 262.024 (a)(4), professional service contract, and (2) award of contract(s) for legal services for right-of-way acquisition for the Better, Safer Roads Program and other special projects - County Judge.
