January 4, 2000

Be it remembered that Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas, met on this the 4th day of January, 2000, with Judge Kirk Wilson presiding. Commissioners Scott Armey, Jim Carter and Jeff Krueger were present along with deputy clerk Kathleen Bransford when the following proceedings were had, to wit:

Court opened with an Invocation by Captain Jack Watkins of the Salvation Army and was followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag led by Jimmy Vann, president of the Denton County Firefighter's Association.

Captain Watkins: Heavenly Father, we thank You for this new day. Heavenly Father, nobody knows what the new millennium is going to bring us, and we'd just ask that You continue to help us with our needs and be with the Commissioners and the Judge as they make their decisions. In Christ's name, we pray. Amen.

ITEM 2 PUBLIC INPUT

Carmen Rivera-Worley advised the court that she had new postings from the state to be placed in all public offices regarding the Public Information Act and instructions on its use.

12.A) Approval of any appropriate action regarding project development, construction progress, and change orders to ongoing Denton County Projects: Sheriff's Office/Jail, Centralized Road & Bridge, Carroll Building, Denton County Courts Building, Denton County Annexes, and future Denton County Satellite Facilities - Commissioners Court.

Danny Brumley, Director of Facilities Management, handed out and went over the Court's Building Fourth Floor and Lower Level Remodeling Schedule from Phillip Swager & Assoc.

12.B) Approval of any appropriate action regarding ongoing, planned, and proposed county and state transportation projects; Denton County's Better Safer Roads Program; and any necessary action regarding the modification of the Denton County Master Thoroughfare Plan - Commissioners Court.
