1.    CALL TO ORDER

2.    PUBLIC INPUT FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ON THE AGENDA

Citizens should complete a witness form located on the side table. Pursuant to State Open Meetings Law, the Commissioners Court is restricted in discussing or taking action on items not posted on the agenda. Action on your statement can be taken only at a future meeting.

In order to expedite the flow of business and to provide all citizens the opportunity to speak, the Commissioners Court has imposed a three-minute limitation on persons addressing the Court.

3.    PUBLIC HEARINGS

9:00 a.m.    A)    Approve the Replat of Lot 2, Block 1, The Oaks, Precinct One – Commissioners Court.

9:10 a.m.    B)    Approve (1) rezoning of part of Tract #34, Abstract 792, from Agricultural (AG) to Residential Medium Density (R2), and (2) a variance from minimum lot width restrictions of 100 feet for lot frontage for any cul-d-sac lot as requested by Mr. Ed Wolski and recommended by the Lake Ray Roberts Planning and Zoning Commission – Commissioners Court.

4.    RESOLUTION

A)    Approval of resolution honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on the 71st anniversary of his birth – Commissioner, Precinct Two. (Briefing 12-14-99)

5.    CONSENT AGENDA

*    All items marked with an asterisk are part of a consent agenda and require no deliberation by the Court. Any Court member can remove an item from this agenda to be considered separately.

6.    COUNTY AUDITOR

Approval of Bill Report.

(Payments from Adult Probation, Community Corrections, Pre-Trial Services and District Attorney Check Fee Fund are presented for recording purposes only.)

7.    TREASURER

*    A)    Approval of Payroll.

8.    PURCHASING

A)    Approval of purchase of mini-blinds from Bond Funds for the Carroll Building, and any appropriate action – County Judge.

B)    Approval of award of bid for removal and abatement of abandoned concrete pipe containing asbestos, Bid #11-99-1266, to ICE Contractors, Inc. for $14,969.00, and any appropriate action – County Judge.

9.    HUMAN RESOURCES

*    A)    Approval of orders appointing New Employees. (The appointments for January 4, 2000, have been posted and advertised; and interviews were conducted as set forth in the Denton County policies adopted by the Commissioners Court, except as otherwise stated in the appointment orders. These appointments are within the budgetary restraints.)

B)    Approve agreement with LabOne, Inc. – County Judge.

10.    HEALTH

A)    Approval of adoption of the unanimous recommendations of the Committee on Funding Human Service Organizations – County Judge. (Briefing 12-14-99)

11.    SHERIFF

A)    Approve release of all claims with United Rentals, Inc. – County Judge.

B)    Approve Boat Stall Agreement – County Judge.

12.    STANDING ITEMS

A)    Approval of any appropriate action regarding project development, construction progress, and change orders to ongoing Denton County Projects: Sheriff’s Office/Jail, Centralized Road & Bridge, Carroll Building, Denton County Courts Building, Denton County Annexes, and future Denton County Satellite Facilities - Commissioners Court.

B)    Approval of any appropriate action regarding ongoing, planned, and proposed county and state transportation projects; Denton County’s Better Safer Roads Program; and any necessary action regarding the modification of the Denton County Master Thoroughfare Plan - Commissioners Court.

C)    Approval of any action regarding Denton County boards and committees - Commissioners Court.

13.    LEGAL

A)    Any appropriate action on Executive Session matters - Legal Department.

14.    EXECUTIVE SESSION(S)

For purposes permitted by Texas Government Code, Section 551.071 - Contemplated or Pending Litigation or Settlement Offer, Section 551.072 - Real Property, Section 551.074 - Personnel Matters, and Section 551.076 - Security.
