November 16, 1999

Be it remembered that Commissioners Court of Denton County, Texas, met on this the 16th day of November, 1999, with Judge Kirk Wilson presiding. Commissioners Jim Carter, Scott Armey and Jeff Krueger were present along with Deputy Clerk Kathleen Bransford when the following proceedings were had, to wit:

Court opened with an invocation by Pastor Scott Brown of the First Baptist Church of Justin, Texas, followed by the Pledges of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag led by John Gardner, Denton County Fire Marshal.

Pastor Brown: Our Father, we're thankful for this, another day. Lord, we just thank You today for the gift of life and health that You've given us. And, Lord, today as we begin this day and this session of the Commissioners Court, we'd like to pause and pray for the men and women who sit before us. We thank You, Lord, for their leadership that they give to this County. Thank You for their knowledge and wisdom that they have of government policies and laws. And I pray that as they sit and make laws, I pray that they would be reminded that decisions they make today affect all the residents of Denton County and the families represented. So, therefore, Lord, we ask for Godly wisdom for these men and also for Ms. Jacobs who's not here today. We thank You for each family that's represented in this courtroom. Thank You for the privilege to live in Denton County and to be called Americans. And, God, we pray that our Country would turn back to the Biblical values in which we were founded upon and that we would lay aside our personal agendas and that we'd strive to be more Christ-pleasing and more like You. Thank You for this day. We ask that You'd bless it in everything that we do, watch over us and protect us, is our prayer. In Christ's precious name, Amen.
